No One Can Hear You Tweet in Space…

So this weekend was my first Gallifrey One convention. To say it is very different from other conventions I have attended, both as press and as a normal attendee, is an understatement. It is truly remarkable that so many of the conventions guests, writers, directors, and actors included, choose to spend their free time in the lobby amongst other fans. And I do mean other fans. If there is anything I learned from this weekend, it is how very much everyone involved with Doctor Who, Torchwood, and The Sarah Jane Adventures truly loves what they are doing. And many of them wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for that love.

Over the next few weeks, I will be posting my interviews from the weekend. Some are very short and to the point, others are long because as someone fascinated by science fiction and how people have reacted to it over the years, I had a lot of questions for the writers. And they always had something to say.

Special thanks to Phil Ford, Gary Russell, Paul Cornell, Tommy Knight, Louise Page, Andrew Hayden-Smith, Rob Shearman, and Amber Benson for taking the time to talk to me, even though most of them would much rather be drinking a beer and chatting with the fans, underage or not. You made it a very interesting and educational experience. Although I had no Russell T sightings, I still await the day when I can personally thank him for Queer as Folk and changing American television forever (for the better, I might add).

Now I will shut up and show you what I think were some of the best costumes.

It's a bit early in the evening for red eye… This Ood has already had too much.

It's hard to fear a Dalek this cute. But perhaps that is what they are aiming for...
